Subject: USTA North Carolina Board of Directors Interest for 2026-27 Term
The USTA North Carolina Nominating Committee is beginning its task of assembling a slate of Board members for the 2026-27 term of office. The Committee is dedicated to identifying a diverse group of passionate tennis leaders in North Carolina who want to give back to the sport they love and grow tennis in the process.
2026-27 Board Positions
Executive Committee:
Established in our By Laws, these persons make up the officers of our Board. They are responsible for the organization's operations between Board meetings. The Executive Director reports to this group. The members shall consist of the President, First Vice President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past President, and three (3) At-Large Executive Committee Members.
Community Tennis Associatin Representatives:
Seven (7) CTA Representatives shall be elected to the Board of Directors in accordance with the parameters below (the “CTA Representatives”). Each CTA eligible to receive a CTA reward grant, as determined by the Board, may nominate a representative of the CTA to interview with the Nominating Committee for consideration. The representative must be a current officer of the CTA. If the CTA Representative chosen no longer is able to serve for any reason, the Board shall replace the CTA Representative from the CTA represented if possible.
At Large Director:
Five (5) persons who are domiciled anywhere in North Carolina shall be elected to the Board of Directors (the “At-Large Directors”).
Past Presidents:
NC Tennis has been served by incredible people who have been in the president's role. Many still remain active currently and do attend and vote at Board meetings. Their contributions have been immeasurable.
Where eligible, all current Board members, Committee Chairs and Committee Members are encouraged to apply for Executive Committee and Board of Directors positions.
We understand that serving in these leadership roles is a substantial commitment of your volunteer time to help our organization grow over a two year period. NOTE: Tennis Weekend 2026 is Janury 29th-Feb 1, 2026! Tennis Weekend 2027 will be announced later this year, but will most likely be on or close to the same corresponding weekend.
